Hey guys! I just want to formally introduce a new series on the blog, under the “inspiration” category. I’m calling it “color crush” in relation to the discussion of certain colors and how they affect us, make us feel and how to incorporate it into our everyday lives. Enjoy!
In honor of Mother’s Day, I thought I’d write this post inspired by my mom. She loves the color yellow and she calls it her “happy color”. So I thought of how this, and how many other colors make us feel. Some makes us feel excited, elated while others can make us feel relaxed and calm.
Yellow aligns more along the happy emotions for its bright hue. It creates a positive atmosphere that radiates cheerfulness, joy and freshness.
If you, a friend or just someone you know has been feeling sad, sluggish or uneasy, even by just looking at pictures of yellow things can make you feel much better and there’s an explanation for this.
Yellow is associated with the solar plexus chakra, the core self. It retrieves energy from the sun which in return allows us to be at peace with who we are. When the chakra is in balance, we feel a more sense of peace and harmony. We’re self-accepting.
Wondering how you can add or incorporate some yellow into your life? Flowers are always a great choice; try placing some sunflowers in a nice vase to brighten the space. Or, be bold and incorporate some yellow hues throughout your clothing, accessories and/or shoes. You never know, it might just become your new favorite color!
